General Information

The application deadline is December 5, 2011. Applications received after that date will be considered as space allows.

Our intended audience is post-doctoral scholars and junior faculty in biology, ecology, and earth systems sciences (BEESS) from the Pacific Northwest. Highest consideration will be given to post-docs and early assistant professors, but advanced doctoral students will also be considered. We will select participants from a variety of career paths; however, applicants should aspire to associate professorship. Participants will be selected by our planning committee and notified of the decision by February 1, 2011.

To make this workshop as affordable as possible:

·     Registration is free

·     Breakfast and lunch will be provided

·     A partial housing stipend is available

Travel costs to and from Oregon State University are the responsibility of the selected participants. Participants may fly into either Portland International Airport (95mi north) or Eugene Airport (40mi south). Airport shuttles are available to deliver travelers from either airport to the Hilton Garden Inn in Corvallis, Oregon. The conference location is a 0.8mi walk from the hotel.

This Oregon State University FORWARD to Professorship workshop is funded by a National Science Foundation ADVANCE award to George Washington, Gallaudet and Ottawa Universities. More information on the FORWARD to Professorship program can be found here
